Boge Rubber & Plastics has added a second production hall at its automotive moulding facility in Trnava, Slovakia, to meet an increase in orders.

"Our current capacity in Slovakia had reached its limits and especially in the plastics sector there is still considerable growth potential," said CEO Torsten Bremer.

Boge also makes rubber-metal components, but the new hall is exclusively used for plastic component production. Levers for steering wheel adjustment, air bag housings and pedal systems are among the parts made in the new hall.

The company, based in Damme, Germany, has invested €7m in the Trnava expansion. The new hall has a production area of more than 5,000 square metres, staffed by about 110 employees, of which 30 are new recruits.

The addition of a second hall has allowed Boge to implement a strict separation of the rubber-metal production and plastics production at Trnava.

Boge said further investments will be implemented at the facility to increase capacity and gradually expand the workforce.

Boge Rubber & Plastics was formed in 2014 from the rubber and plastics business of automotive Tier One group ZF Friedrichshafen and is owned by Times New Material Technology Co, based in China.

Boge has annual sales of more than €700m, with about €100m generated the Trvana business. The group employs around 4,000 people.
